What We Do
Bay Area SpeechWorks is a full service speech language pathology clinic serving people of all ages with communication disorders. We are also a non-public agency (NPA) certified by the California Department of Education (CDE) to provide speech-language services to public and nonpublic schools.
In the clinic:
Birth- Three Years
We work with young children ages 0-3 with feeding issues, motor speech disorders (apraxia), expressive and receptive language disorders, and social language-play concerns. Our work is play-based and we always include parents and caregivers. Much of our work with children this age involves parent education.
Preschool
We work with preschool children ages 3-5 who have difficulty with articulation, speech intelligibility, expressive and receptive language, fluency, social skills, auditory processing.
School-Aged
We work with students ages 6-18 in the areas of articulation, expressive and receptive language, motor speech, fluency, voice, written language, narrative language, social cognitive skills, orofacial myology, memory, attention, and executive functions.
Adults
We work with adults ages 19 and up with various communication disorders including those that arise from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or stroke, fluency, voice, or neuromuscular dysfunction.
The agency:
Bay Area SpeechWorks provides comprehensive speech-language services to area schools in accordance with state and federal mandates. We are able to conduct screenings and assessments, provide individual and group therapy, write clinical reports and measurable goals. We have proven the ability to provide effective and efficient service to different schools and districts and work collaboratively with general and special education staff members and administration. We welcome private, public, and nonpublic schools and districts to contact us for your staffing needs. We are happy to provide a list of references from schools and districts upon request.
